Yasalam 2014: New Location, New Experience Live on the Corniche

Yasalam is now in its momentous sixth year and FLASH Entertainment is bringing an experience unlike any other with new activities and a new location for its Live on the Corniche programme on the West Plaza and Lagoon Beach. From 4pm on Thursday, 13 November, the Live on the Corniche activities will come to life as the Yasalam Opening Parade, F1 FanZone™, Urban Art Zone and Get Driver Fit Challenge Obstacle Course are opened to the public.

Leading the excitement from the start will be the Yasalam Opening Parade which will see hundreds of local schoolchildren march along the Corniche to West Plaza, the location of the F1 FanZone™. Starting at 4pm at Gate 6 of the Abu Dhabi beach, the procession will include large,  colourful floats designed by the children that will proceed along the waterfront along with a marching band, performers and dancers. Each of the participant schools will be displaying their specially designed floats in the theme of a fellow race-host country which they were assigned, such as USA, Brazil, Spain and the UAE.  After reaching the West Plaza, the new location of the Live on the Corniche activities, the float deemed to be decorated to the highest standard will be awarded a trophy for their creativity.

The arrival point for the Yasalam Opening Parade will be the West Plaza, the new location of the hugely popular F1 FanZone™, the world’s official F1 FanZone™. Open from November 13th to the day of the big race, Sunday, 23 November, the venue will allow fans and spectators to feel the rush of the race with thrills and spills for motorsport enthusiasts of all ages. Open Thursday – Friday from 4 pm to midnight and Saturday to Wednesday from 5 pm – 11 pm, there’s plenty to keep the family entertained at the world’s largest and most diverse race fan experience.

New to the Get Driver Fit brought to you by National Health Insurance Company – Daman’s Activelife initiative, will be the first-ever Get Driver Fit Challenge Obstacle Course which will not only be the grand finale of the community-wide 10 week fitness program, but also give visitors an opportunity to try their skills manoeuvring through sets of seventeen challenging obstacles.
