THE BEACH Celebrates Essential Link between Art and Society for Dubai Art Season 2015

THE BEACH by Meraas, the upbeat outdoor destination, celebrated the essential link between art and society from April 9-11 with a special ‘paintball wall’ that brought together art and the community for a good cause.

Hosted as part of Dubai Art Season 2015, the fun-filled initiative was held in collaboration with the Dubai Centre for Special Needs (DCSN) and National Paints.

Visitors to the outdoor destination were invited to discover the child within themselves and launch paint balls on a white wall using a paintball gun. A contribution of AED25 was collected from each participant, with all proceeds from the ‘paintball wall’ donated to the DCSN art program.

The completed work of art emblazoned with a logo of THE BEACH is on display at the destination until April 21.

As part of Dubai Art Season 2015, a trippy 3D Warp installation is also up for viewing at the outdoor destination until April 21. Crafted by artist Andronico Del Rosario, the artwork made of mirror acrylic encased in a wooden structure reminds society that life is a continual change and people evolve as they think, react and see life naturally.

Where there’s art, can music be far behind? As part of the ongoing festivities, visitors to the destination had enjoyed a musical treat with renowned Arab ‘hand pan artist’ Sherif El-Moghazy. El Moghazy had enchanted the crowds with his aesthetically crafted hand pan (steel drum) that produces an ancient, yet familiar sound.
