Review of Skullcandy’s Latest Crusher Wireless Headphones

Skullcandy’s Crusher Wireless was one we were very happy to receive and review at our office in the month of March. Upon initial review, we saw that it follows in the footsteps of their earlier wired model which had a built in amplifier and changeable batteries for the same “Haptic Bass” output. The main changes over the earlier model apart from it being wireless of course is that it now has a rechargeable battery included via a USB micro port on the headset. The battery is purported to last for an incredible 40 hours before needing a recharge as per their claims, which we are happy to announce is quite true!

As technology evolves, products get more sophisticated and the wireless option is something that is crucial in today’s day and age. Crusher has one of the easiest connectivity methods that we have seen on a product. All devices can detect and connect to the headphone seamlessly without the need to actually read the manual. The speakers are heavily focused on perfecting the bass which we love, however it would have been great for the tweeter to be fine tuned a bit more for clarity as this would have set it apart from the competitors even more so.

While the bass output was claimed by many to be too much for some people we personally found the amplification of the bass via the slider control to be perfect and just right for us. The slider can be adjusted from a 0% change to 100% being overpowered if the content already has extra bass in it. Users will delight in adjusting the bass to their respective liking just as we did.

Memory foam was one of the best and combined with the research given to keep the overall weight under just 200 grams made it for very comfortable listening. We listened to music for over 5 hours at a stretch without experiencing any fatigue whatsoever. And truly wish for more upscale manufacturers to take heed of this and follow. The only improvement that we would love to see is for the next generation to have better tweeter tweaks to complement the bass as well as considering inclusion of outside sound cancellation in the headphone to truly stand apart.

In terms of price, the Skullcandy Wireless Crusher is offered for around AED 599/- and can be found at selected retail stores such as Virgin Megastores. All in all the Crusher Wireless delivers a premium, immersive, multi-sensory experience, one of the best Bluetooth functions, and over 40 hours of battery life among various other remarkable features.
